COMPUTER ACADEMY "STEP UP"
Schools do a fantastic job, but the most worrying fact is that very few sixth form students study ICT at "A" level. The truth is, ICT is a specialist subject and therefore needs specialists to teach it. We all marvel at our childrens skill on the computer, but the stark fact is, children can log on to chat sites, play games and write a basic presentation and letter. If your child was asked to build their own website, using annimated banners, integrating pictures, enabling payments via the website and making a professional presentation, to name just a few aspects, could they do this?
Step Up's Computer Academy is aimed at giving children the skills they will use in the real world. We have children attending our academy, learning Web Design, Graphic Design and many more technical sides of computer knowledge. These skills can lead to self employment and perhaps provide the means to 'self fund' through university. When your child shows a potential employer they are fully conversant with skills needed, this might lead to a job offer and a higher starting salary. These skills are always sought after, whatever the economic climate.

The curricular program is constructed so each new year the child will use previous experience to progress through the five levels of the Academy:

- Web-design and Animation

The course consists of a 20 week level, beginning in March, followed by 3 or 6 years of study depending upon the children’s age.
The groups will be according to age: 7-9 years, 10-12 years, 13-14 years.
All Levels will run for 39 weeks from September to June, 1 or 1,5 hours per week depending upon age.
